Levi and Roy: A Partner in His Corner

Levi served six years in the U.S. Air Force, working primarily in Counter-Intelligence with a specialty in Counter-Terrorism. He was on around-the-clock call for the entirety of his career and deployed to Afghanistan in 2018. The stress of the job and his experiences overseas, while fulfilling, left him feeling alone and out of sorts, looking over his shoulder and at times having trouble letting his guard down.

As of October 2025, Levi has been training with his service dog Roy through South Dakota Service Dogs for one year. Roy helps Levi sleep better at night and reminds him he has someone in his corner.

Despite being a handful at times, Roy has been an immense blessing — a steady presence Levi can count on.
